DepEd officials monitor basic education program implementation in Isabela

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – Officials from the Department of Education (DepEd) recently visited Isabela to monitor the implementation of basic education programs, as well as the recovery initiatives and interventions in schools affected by calamities.

DepEd Undersecretary for Human Resources and Organizational Development, Wilfredo E. Cabral, and Assistant Secretary Carmela Oracion, accompanied by DepEd Regional Director Benjamin D. Paragas and Assistant Regional Director Florante E. Vergara, conducted inspections in various schools across the province.

Cabral reviewed the technological infrastructure and engaged with officials from the Schools Division Office (SDO) Isabela, as well as school heads and teachers, to discuss issues impacting the delivery of quality education.

Special focus was given to Ayod Integrated School (AIS) in Dinapigue town and Advance Montessori Education Center of Isabela (AMECI) in Tumauini town.

He assured local education leaders that learning resources, computers, and reliable internet connectivity would be made available to support effective learning interventions.

“This initiative is key to strengthening the foundation of our education system. We aim to equip learners with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle real-world challenges,” Cabral said.

As part of the visit, Cabral distributed practice learning kits for both offline and online learning sessions and donated 18 laptops to AIS.

He emphasized that these resources would ensure equitable access to education, particularly for schools in remote areas.

Meanwhile, ASec. Oracion praised the collaborative efforts between DepEd’s central and regional offices, as well as local stakeholders, in creating an effective learning environment.

DepEd Region 02 Director Benjamin D. Paragas and Assistant Director Florante E. Vergara also highlighted the importance of unified efforts to address challenges and optimize the resources available to schools in the region.

Paragas stressed the value of fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration, noting that the success of education depends on the collective efforts of all stakeholders.

Schools Division Superintendent Rachel R. Llana expressed her gratitude for the technical assistance provided by DepEd’s Executive Committee and Region 02 leadership, stating that the support received would ensure effective curriculum delivery and sustained progress in the region’s schools.
