CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – The Department of Education-Schools Division of Isabela affirmed that the opening of classes in the province was smooth and peaceful.
Schools Division Superintendent Rachel Llana commended the cooperation of the learners, parents, teachers, and the community during the preparation of the school facilities through the Brigada Eskwela.
She said community involvement is the key to the successful reopening of the school classes 2024-2025.
Llana also commended schools and learning centers in the division for ensuring all of the learning resource materials and classrooms as well as the safety, and security mechanisms were in place before the opening.
The law enforcement authorities, traffic officials, and barangay officials also did a good job in ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of the students within the school zones, she added.
Meanwhile, Octavio V. Cabasag, chief of the Curriculum and Learning Management Division, who led the monitoring team, lauded the preparation and readiness of teachers in the delivery of the MATATAG curriculum in Isabela.
“The compliance of schools in the province to DepEd Order No. 10, Series of 2024, or the Policy Guidelines on the Implementation of the MATATAG Curriculum is truly commendable,” Cabasag said.
He also urged school officials to make collaborative expertise a learning opportunity for teachers and an avenue for addressing instructional gaps and challenges.
The monitoring teams will continue to visit schools until Friday to gather data, issues, concerns, and challenges in curriculum implementation and school operations which will serve as inputs in technical assistance provision. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela with reports from DepEd Isabela)
