Desk officers enhance conciliation-mediation skills

ILOILO CITY (PIA) — A total of 50 Single Entry Assistance Desk Officers (SEADOs) recently attended the SEADOs Learning Session and Conference to keep abreast with the latest issuances and enhance their skills in conciliation and mediation.

The SEADOs are the frontliners in the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Single Entry Approach (SEnA) program which aims to provide an accessible, speedy, impartial, and inexpensive settlement procedure of all labor and employment issues through conciliation-mediation.

DOLE 6 Regional Director lawyer Sixto T. Rodriguez Jr. said it is the goal of the Labor Department to give fast and effective relief to labor issues and enhancing the skills of our SEADOs guarantees a peaceful, speedy, and less expensive pursuit of the workers’ rights and welfare.

The SEADOs were also provided with a refresher of online and on-site SEnA procedures and were trained on the latest and effective conciliation-mediation techniques in handling labor issues.

A DOLE statement said that content-focused writing of the minutes of the conference and the agreements reached by the parties highlighting the essential details of the documents were also imparted to the SEADOs, as well as the compliance of SEnA forms and other reportorial requirements.
