DFA to open Saturday operation for gov’t employees

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (PIA) –The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Puerto Princesa will open a courtesy lane for passport services to all government employees on September 28 in celebration of the 124th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service.

DFA Consular Office Head Eliza Jane Estalilla said that those who want to avail of the service will no longer need to book an online appointment. The courtesy lane on September 28, Saturday, will start from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Hindi niyo na kailangan na mag-appointment online kasi special service namin ‘yon, you can just walk in and request for courtesy lane service,” she said.

Before the courtesy lane services on September 28, the DFA Puerto Princesa already opened the lane on Tuesdays to Thursdays in September. The government employee can also bring an immediate family member to avail of the service.

Applicants are advised to present the original and photocopy of their employment ID or employment certification signed by the head of their office. It is in addition to the basic requirements for passport applications.

The processing fee on the courtesy lane costs P1,200. The list of passport requirements can be checked through the DFA’s official website at consular.dfa.gov.ph (RG/ PIA MIMAROPA-Palawan)
