DUMAGUETE CITY, Negros Oriental, Feb. 6 (PIA) — Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo has appointed 100 job order (JO) workers from different offices to casual plantilla positions in recognition of having continuously served the City Government of Dumaguete without interruption for the past 11 to 20 years.
This is the latest batch of JO workers who were appointed en masse to casual plantilla positions by the mayor with the concurrence of their heads of office effective Feb. 1, 2023 that will now entitle them to receive benefits, allowances, and leave credits like regular employees.
Among the JO workers who were appointed to casual plantilla positions are garbage collectors, health workers, traffic enforcers, barangay nutrition scholars, public safety officers, utility workers and administrative staff.
In his message, Remollo stressed that the appointment of the JO workers to casual plantilla positions is in accordance with the LUPAD platform of government, where P stands for the Professionalism in government and good governance in which deserving and qualified workers are hired, promoted or appointed as casual plantilla employees based on their merits and availability of funds.
The mayor encouraged the newly-appointed employees to continue serving the public with sincerity, dedication, and integrity to honor the trust entrusted to them.
City Human Resource Management Officer Dr. Dinno Depositario disclosed that of the 100 newly-appointed casual employees, 26 are from the City Economic Enterprises Department, 19 from the City Health Office, 15 from the Environment and Natural Resources Office, 12 from the City Nutrition Office, 10 from the City Mayor’s Office, 8 from the Traffic Management Office, 6 from the City Social Welfare and Development Office, 3 from the Special Enforcement Unit, and 2 from the General Services Office.
Remollo approved their casual appointments in recognition of their years in service, qualifications, and favorable recommendation of their heads of office. (JCT/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
