ILOILO CITY (PIA) –The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Regional Office 6 has extended its Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP) – Emergency Shelter Support (ESS) to 49 families in Brgy. Rizal Estanzuela, Bonifacio Tanza, and Maria Cristina Jaro in Iloilo City.
These families suffered total damage to their houses due to fire incidents on June 17 and 30, 2024, respectively.
The payout was conducted on Sept. 13, 2024 to provide immediate financial assistance to the affected households amounting to P20,000 per family.
This one-time shelter support will help families meet their temporary shelter needs.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Iloilo City facilitated the processing of the necessary documents for the timely release of funds.
“We are thankful to the government for its continued support, especially in times of crisis” said Bonifacio Tanza resident Louie Evangelista during the payout.
IDSAP is DHSUD’s initiative for post-disaster response, with the ESS being part of Phase 1—Emergency Response.
The ESS forms part of the three phases of IDSAP, which also includes early recovery and rehabilitation efforts for disaster-stricken areas. (AAL/ED/PIA6)
