MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)–In an ever-evolving digital age where information communications technology (ICT) is a necessity, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)-10 hosted the Partners’ Summit on October 26 to strengthen its ties with various stakeholders and boost the country’s ICT capabilities.
DICT-10, together with the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB), organized the event that brought together state universities and colleges, local government units, national government agencies, and ICT industries from the region in recognition of its vital role in driving progress, innovation, and competitiveness.
“We gather to meet our stakeholders, expand our network, and forge new collaborations under the summit’s theme ‘Collaborative Synergy: Unlocking Opportunities Together.’ This is also the opportunity to present and celebrate DICT’s accomplishments and contributions through the delivery of ICT training, competency certifications, and standard settings through the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB),” DICT-10 Regional Director Sittie Rahma V. Alawi said in her video message.
Alawi explained that in order to expand and localize the implementation of the programs, projects, and activities of the Bureau, their office has been coordinating with various stakeholders for capacity-building partnerships among educational institutions, government agencies, and industries to develop innovative programs that could cater to the marginalized sectors of the community.
“By partnering with various education institutions, ICT industries, and stakeholders, we aim to design and conduct engagement that will empower our society with the skills and knowledge required to thrive in the digital era,” ILCDB Competency Certification and Courseware Development Division Officer-in-charge Engr. Enrico Toledo said.
He said the summit aims to target various sectors to set up diversity, reflecting the agency’s commitments to inclusivity and comprehensive development. Aside from that, various activities are all set to ensure its success, he added.
Toledo also emphasized that the progress in ICT capacity development relies on the strength of partnership with the stakeholders.
“Together, we will shape a future where the Philippines stands as a beacon of digital competency. Let’s embark on this journey with determination, collaboration, and a shared vision with a brighter and more digitally empowered Philippines,” Toledo said. (JAKA/PIA10)
