BATANGAS CITY (PIA) – The government’s one-stop mobile application eGOvPH is equipped with advanced security features to address data breach and other security concerns, the Department of Information and Communication in Calabarzon said.
The eGovPH is a single platform where the public can access their digital government IDs and conduct transactions with the government. The app was launched in June 2023 and had since been widely used for online government transactions.
DICT focal for eGov Bryan Zeos Basco said regular security audits and updates ensure that user data remains protected from cyber threats.
“To address security concerns, the app employs multi-layered protection, including encryption protocols and integration with the Philippine National ID for safe and reliable authentication,” he added.
The DICT also collaborates with local government in conducting digital literacy programs to ensure that the app benefits rural and underserved communities while maintaining robust security.
Meanwhile, in an episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, the DICT announced that it logged 1.4 million eGovPH app downloads in Calabarzon, the second highest downloads nationwide.
“As of November last week, we achieved 1.4 million subscribers under Calabarzon due to the efforts of our caravan in academes, also different ways to promote the eGOV Super App because it’s free for everyone,” Basco said.
Common features of eGOVPH app are Centralized Access to Government Services, online payment system, Philippine National ID Integration, eTravel System, security features and feedback mechanism that a vital tool for enhancing government efficiency and ensuring that public services are accessible to every Filipino.
The eGOV PH app, available for free download on Google Play and the Apple App Store, represents a significant milestone in the government’s journey toward digital governance.
