TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 2 hosted a Local Chief Information Officers (CIOs) conference in the province of Batanes, which was participated in by representatives of the six municipalities.
Topics covered include a walkthrough of the eGovPH super app, data management strategies, features of the Philippine National Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKI), and cybersecurity measures.
DICT Batanes Provincial Officer Engr. Rogelio T. Layugan said the activity is essential for CIOs to gain skills and help the local governments use the technology more effectively to serve their clientele.
“Understanding the eGovPH and eLGU initiatives is needed for CIOs to manage the transition process smoothly. By capacitating our CIOs, we ensure that our municipalities are ready to adopt the new digital tools and improve their services. This will make our local government operations more efficient and effective,” Layugan said.
The activity, he said further, aims to upskill local information officers and strengthen local government units’ ICT capabilities, thereby preparing them for the implementation of eGovPH and eLGU initiatives in the province. (OTB/MJPT/PIA Region 2)
