ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–Gidayeg ni Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy atol sa iyang pagbisita ang kalamboan ug liderato sa dakbayan ilabi na sa digitalization ug turismo.
“I’ve visited Iligan many times, and I am so amazed with all the development that has transpired over the years. I think Iligan, being the only digital city in Northern Mindanao, is indeed an attestation of leadership role and progress that Iligan has been pursuing its development of not only in the business process outsourcing industry but at the same time in the tourism industry,” sumala niya sa gipahigayon nga press conference sa Mayor’s Night atol sa National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) Summit.
Iyang gipasiugda nga komitado ang gobyerno alang sa digitalization sa tibuok nasud ug giila ang Iligan isip usa ka siyudad diin mabati sa nagkalain-laing sektor sa katilingban ang tinuod nga epekto sa digitalization. Gipaambit usab niya ang tumong nga mapalapdan ang kalamboan ngadto sa labing hilit nga mga dapit sa nasud diin magtukod og libreng WiFi facility.
Samtang, sumala ni DICT Usec. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, naay potensyal ang Iligan alang sa convergence ug innovation, diin nahimong lugar nga natawhan NICP kaniadtong 2008.
“Iligan is one of the bright lights of Mindanao, leading the way for the geographical region with the talent you have and the very visionary leadership of the mayor and all the members of the local government. I hope you take it as a challenge to move from being a digital city to becoming a center of excellence for IT jobs in the Philippines in the coming years,” sumala niya.
Dugang pa, gipaambit ni Mayor Frederick Siao ang ilang tumong nga pakusgon ang epektibo nga transaksyon sa mga government process pinaagi sa digitalization.
“We wanted everything digitalized. From merely tracking all the documents until the finish line. For example, the salaries of the employees, the collectibles for the local government for taxes, and everything else that will make our job easier and that will make our government more efficient,” sumala niya.
Misaad og suporta ang DICT alang sa pagkab-ot niini nga tumong pinaagi sa Electronic Local Government Unit (ELGU) nga proyekto, diin ang Iligan mahimong usa sa mga prayoridad. Sa tabang sa ELGU, maka-access na ang publiko sa mga digital nga serbisyo nga gihatag sa mga LGU, lakip ang mga business permit, licensing, tax processing, civil registration, real property tax, barangay clearance, ug information dissemination.
