VIRAC, Catanduanes (PIA) — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) officially launched here the eGovPH Super App and eLGU system on July 1, 2024.
The eGovPH App simplifies transactions between the government and citizens by integrating various government sectors into a single online platform, reducing economic costs for citizens.
The eLGU system is a software solution developed by DICT for the local government units (LGUs) in line with R.A. 11032, which promotes Ease of Doing Business and efficient delivery of government services.
It provides services such as business permit licensing, community tax, local civil registry, business tax, real property tax, community tax, health certificates, and notice of violations, and serves as the notification system.
The eLGU system can be accessed through the eGovPH App, allowing the public to avail of a wide range of local government services.
In her speech, DICT Regional Director Rachell Ann Grabador stated that the introduction and promotion of the eGovPH App and the eLGU system are part of DICT’s initiative to bring services closer to the people.
It also aims to bring DICT’s initiatives and services to the grassroots, strengthen information dissemination, and ensure that government services are accessible to all.
Vice Gov. Peter Cua, who represented Governor Joseph Cua at the launch, welcomed the use of the eGovPH and eLGU system to enable a simpler, faster, and more accessible process of availing the provincial government’s services.
Town mayors and heads of national and local agencies signed the wall of commitment affirming their support for advancing governance through the effective utilization of technology.
The event was followed by a series of activities, including the local chief information officers conference-workshop set for July 3 at E-Crown Hotel, and a three-day eGovPH App promotional event at Virac Town Plaza from July 3 to 5, 2024. (PIA 5/Catanduanes)
