CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA)- – The Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) Region 2 recently conducted training on Minecraft education and mobile robotics for selected senior high school (SHS) students of Quirino province.
Schools Division Superintendent Madelyn L. Macalling urged the students to participate actively in the workshops and use the opportunity to hone their skills.
Macalling also encouraged the students to make the most out of their training and apply their learnings in their chosen field saying that not all students are given the chance to undergo training.
Engr. Magdalena D. Gomez, chief of DICT’s Technical Operations Division, said the training aims to enhance the digital literacy and technical skills of SHS students by providing them with the knowledge and tools needed to innovate and contribute to the future of technology.
Under the Minecraft education session, the participants engaged in basic and advanced coding concepts through interactive Minecraft projects, fostering collaborative learning and problem-solving skills.
In mobile robotics workshops, on the other hand, the students built and programmed robots, tackling various challenges such as obstacle avoidance, climbing, and track races, enhancing their understanding of robotics and programming.
Furthermore, the participants had the opportunity to connect with facilitators and peers, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. (OTB/TCB/PIA Quirino)
