ILOILO CITY (PIA6) — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has acknowledged the efforts made by the Iloilo City government in its campaign against illegal drugs.
Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr., said the illegal drug situation in Iloilo has already improved, noting that it is totally far from what was once tagged image of the city years ago.
“We can see it already. It is really different from what was tagged as ‘shabulized city’ years before. It is totally different now because of the leadership of Mayor Jerry Treñas. You know, our LGUs have a big role to fill – our mayors, barangay captains – that’s why we are here to provide support for each other,” Abalos said.
