DAET, Camarines Norte –The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in partnership with the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) recenlty conducted an anti-drug summit for the youth. The event took place at the Psalms Farm Resort, Cayucyucan, Mercedes, this province.
The 2-day activity dubbed “BIDA ang Kabataan: Peace and Development and Anti-Illegal Drugs Summit for Youth” was participated in by Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Officers and student leaders from various schools in the province.
As the second provincial activity following the successful provincial launch of Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan” or BIDA Program, the youth summit aimed at empowering the youths and harnessing their capacities by raising awareness and connecting them to the platforms of participation in local youth development.
DILG Camarines Norte Provincial Director Melody E. Relucio, CESO V, in her message, advises the participants to fully engaged their participation in the activity.
In her message, DILG Camarines Norte Provincial Director Melody E. Relucio, CESO V enjoined all participants to “loosen belts’, a metaphor encouraging them to be open and receptive to their fellow participants.
She said that this will be done by shedding any inhibitions, timidity, or reluctance for them to fully engage in the activity and productively contribute to the event.
PCol Joselito E. Villarosa, Vice Governor Joseph V. Ascutia and Provincial Youth Development Officer Don Eduardo S. Padilla, represented by Grace Nel Padrigon also expressed their messages of support and emphasized the important roles entrusted to Camnorteño youth leaders in promoting and upholding good governance within their communities.
During the first day, the youth engaged in a series of interactive activities like getting to know themselves better, teaming up and self-reflection workshop where participants opened up about their strengths, weaknesses and visions as youth leaders.
The processing of these activities was facilitated by Ms. Jonalyn Mabeza-Ang from the PYDO. It was followed by the discussion on “The Role of the Youth in Nation Building by LGOO II Christian DL Gabalfin and resource speakers from Philippine National Police Camarines Norte Police Major Alexander V.
