OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)– The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Misamis Occidental collaborated with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to assess selected government offices for the 4th Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.
The PDRRMO, represented by Operations and Warning Officer Rene Jig N. Suan and other office employees, and the BFP, represented by OIC Operation Branch SFO3 Rexel M. Hisula and other BFP employees, were the two offices that made up the evaluation team.
Meanwhile, LGOO II Sanivier Sapphire Yashua Patoc and Project Evaluation Officer Mark Joshua Kilat Bulay-og represented the DILG. The Department of Public Works and Highways 1st District Engineering Office and the Misamis Occidental Police Provincial Office underwent the assessment.
The evaluation team noted tangible improvements in the offices’ performance as compared to the previous quarter’s NSED. This further displayed their serious commitment to addressing the previous remarks made by the evaluators.
The National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill is an event designed to evaluate the readiness of local disaster risk reduction and management councils and response teams in the country, particularly in responding to an earthquake.
This simulation exercise allows different disaster response units to demonstrate their coordination and execution of roles and responsibilities during such an event. (DILG Misamis Occidental/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
