BANGUED, Abra (PIA) — Twenty-three disadvantaged workers in the province received essential livelihood kits under the Department of Labor and Employment Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
Livelihood packages worth of P609,335 were released to beneficiaries from the municipalities of Bucay, San Quintin, Pilar, San Isidro, Peñarrubia, Danglas, and Bangued for hog raising, sari-sari store, motorcycle maintenance and service shop, and goat breeding ventures.
The distribution was made possible through the partnership of DOLE with the Office of Senator Loren Legarda.
Farmer Janice Gallego from barangay Tangadan, San Quintin, thanked DOLE for the five heads of goat that she received. She said that it will help boost the reproduction of her livestock. .
“Dakkel nga yaman ko, ta detoy inted da kanyak a kalding ket paadwek daytoy. Agtaltalon ti trabahok , iso nga daytoy kalding nu mapaadok, ilakok ton,” Gallego said.
[I’m very thankful because I will use these goats for breeding to multiply my livestock. I’m a farmer so I can sell them if they grow. This is an additional income for me.]
DOLE-Abra Provincial Director Christopher Tugadi encouraged the beneficiaries to avail assistance programs of the government for additional income. He also made mention about the importance of these livelihood assistance programs to the families of child-laborers.
“Daytoy ti ganuat ti gobierno a mangtulong kanyayo. Isu nga aniaman a program ti gobierno a makatulong kanyayo aglalo dagiti ubbingtayo, gundawan yo dagita a program tapno adda ti pag-income’an yo,” Tugadi said.
[The aim of this government programs is to help you. So take the opportunity to avail whatever livelihood assistance you can get from the government especially to the families of child-laborers.]
The DILP prioritizes to bring livelihood assistance to the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers and child-laborers. (CAGT-PIA CAR, Abra)
