QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – The SOCCSKSARGEN Region of Central Mindanao, branded as SOX by the Department of Tourism (DOT), will visit Metro Manila through the 6th Treasures of SOX: A Travel and Trade Expo 2024, happening on June 7-9, 2024 beginning at 10:00 am, at the Midtown Atrium of Robinsons Place Manila in Ermita, Manila.

The event aims to highlight SOCCSKSARGEN’s tourist products and services, attracting potential visitors and promoting the region’s unique attractions and experiences. This event will also showcase the region’s talented locals in sports, the arts, and product manufacturing.

Comprising South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos, the region is known for its abundant resources, skilled people, and growing economy.

The area is also a powerhouse of fresh and processed products such as tuna, pineapple, coffee, muscovado, coconut oil, bananas, pigs, and aquaculture products. They also organize several national and international conferences connected to these businesses. Furthermore, the Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI) and the DOT are actively working to establish, accredit, and promote Farm Tourism destinations.

Visitors to SOX can explore several tourist sites in the towns of General Santos, Koronadal, Tacurong, and Kidapawan, as well as the provinces of Sarangani, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and North Cotabato.

The region has spectacular natural settings ideal for ecotourism, including breathtaking skies, mountains, lowlands, and underwater attractions. It is home to five major indigenous peoples—the Tboli, Blaan, Manobo, Tiruray, and Maguindanaons—who still practice their traditional ways of life. SOX has several adventure opportunities, making it an excellent choice for thrill-seekers and environment enthusiasts.
