DOE launches Sustainable Energy Awards 2024

MANILA, (PIA) — The Department of Energy (DOE) is starting the search for the Sustainable Energy Awards 2024.

This initiative aims to boost renewable energy efforts and help the country move towards a sustainable future. The awards will celebrate exceptional work in the renewable energy field, highlighting projects and technologies that promote cleaner energy.

By highlighting these achievements, we aim to inspire greater commitment to sustainability, foster innovation, and accelerate the nation’s shift to cleaner, greener energy sources,” said Energy Secretary Raphael P.M. Lotilla.

The Awards will be given in three separate categories: Renewable Energy Projects in OnGrid Areas, Private Institutions, and Local Government Units (LGUs). Each category recognizes significant contributors and initiatives that support the nation’s renewable energy objectives and sustainable growth.

The Renewable Energy Projects in On-Grid Areas category recognizes outstanding work in the energy sector. This award highlights initiatives that enhance community resilience, support sustainable practices, and yield positive social and economic impacts through renewable energy solutions integrated into the grid.

The Private Institutions category recognizes companies and organizations that have made important progress in promoting and using renewable energy in the country.

It focuses on innovative actions, reduced carbon footprints, and leadership in integrating renewable energy into their practices, establishing new benchmarks for sustainability in the private sector.

Lastly, the LGU category of this award recognizes the efforts of provinces, cities, and municipalities that have been dedicated to advancing renewable energy.

This involves streamlining the permitting process, developing renewable energy policies, and encouraging projects that provide key environmental and economic benefits.

The DOE is looking to promote progress in renewable energy through the Sustainable Energy Awards 2024.

This initiative will recognize projects and contributors that not only satisfy the nation’s energy needs but also play a role in global climate initiatives.

This is an opportunity to highlight your projects and initiatives that not only support our national goals for renewable energy but also demonstrate a commitment to environmental stewardship and economic resilience. By sharing these achievements, we hope to inspire broader action and collaboration across all sectors toward a cleaner, more sustainable future for the Philippines.” he added. (JLN/PIA-NCR)
