DOE’s fuel caravan arrives in Bicol to boost emergency response

QUEZON CITY (PIA) — The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Fuel Caravan initiative arrived in the Bicol region late Monday afternoon, October 28, providing a much-needed boost to emergency response operations in the area.

In its social media post, the Energy Department said the initial delivery included 11 fuel tankers, each carrying approximately 20,000 liters of liquid petroleum products, and seven additional tankers loaded with 180 pieces of 11-kilogram liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.

The DOE’s ‘Fuel Caravan’ initiative displays the importance of coordinated efforts in ensuring the availability of essential resources, particularly during emergencies and periods of high demand.

Each fuel tanker has the capacity to provide a full tank of fuel for up to 400 ambulances, significantly enhancing the capacity of emergency services to respond to urgent needs.

The Energy Department expressed gratitude to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) personnel for their collaborative efforts in facilitating the Fuel Caravan and ensuring smooth traffic management.
The DOE’s swift and strategic response ensures these essential services have the necessary fuel to operate effectively. (DOE)
