MANDALUYONG CTY (PIA) — Strengthening its commitment to improving emergency healthcare services, the Department of Health – Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) turned over a Type 1 ambulance unit to Barangay 28 (ANA) Super Health Center, Caloocan City, in a ceremony held on February 25 (Tuesday).

The brand-new ambulance, procured through the Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP) for the 2023 fiscal year, is equipped with essential life-saving equipment, including oxygen tanks, stretchers, and first-aid kits.

It will enhance the health center’s capacity to respond to medical emergencies and will be integrated into the local Health Care Provider Network (HCPN) for seamless patient referrals.

During the handover ceremony at the DOH-MMCHD regional office in Mandaluyong City, Regional Director Lester M. Tan led the presentation of the ceremonial key to Dr. Fernando S. Santos of the Caloocan City Health Department. Also present were Dr. Janice Kathleen R. Malesido, Mr. Rodel M. Alegre, Engr. Annabelle Binoya, Dr. Manuel Mapue II, and other DOH officials.

This initiative aligns with the DOH’s 8-Point Action Agenda, which aims to equip communities with the necessary resources to provide quality healthcare and ensure efficient medical response.
