As part of the country’s observance of the Dengue Awareness Month, the DOH and the PIA launched public awareness drives on how to prevent the spread of the mosquito-borne viral disease.

The DOH-CHD is the lead agency in the annual observance of the National Dengue Awareness Month.

Dr. Mario S. Baquilod, spokesperson of DOH-CHD, said that the Philippine government demonstrates its strong determination to safeguard the health and wellness of its inhabitants in their battle against the disease through their comprehensive Dengue Prevention and Control Program.

The theme “Deng-Get Out! Ang Dengue nagbabanta, mag-5S para laging handa,” encapsulates the urgency and importance of raising awareness about dengue fever. The observance of Dengue Awareness Month aims to educate and empower individuals to take proactive measures in preventing the spread of this potentially life-threatening disease.

The Department of Health’s Consultation campaign plays a crucial role in disseminating information and providing guidance on how to effectively combat dengue. Through various platforms such as community consultations, public forums, and social media campaigns, the department aims to reach a wide audience and encourage active participation in dengue prevention efforts.
