MANILA, (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has reported that its Hotline 1349 managed over 106,905 inquiries from Filipino workers in 2024, underscoring its role as a crucial resource for addressing various labor concerns.
According to the DOLE Information and Publication Service (IPS), which oversees the hotline, the total included 102,929 calls and 3,976 emails from workers seeking assistance on issues ranging from wages and benefits to employment opportunities and workplace safety.

The majority of the inquiries focused on labor standards, with 89,315 queries recorded.
Employment-related concerns followed, accounting for 10,826 inquiries, while social protection and welfare issues comprised 4,877 queries.
Additionally, the hotline addressed 865 queries regarding labor relations.
Among the labor standards issues, the most frequently reported concern was non-compliance with final pay.
Hotline action officers also provided valuable information on holiday pay rules, minimum wage implementation, and resignation procedures.
In the realm of employment, most queries pertained to local and probationary employment, with 705 inquiries related to alien employment permits.
The hotline also played a significant role in social protection and welfare, assisting over 4,800 workers on matters such as non-remittance of mandatory benefits, expanded maternity leave, and work-related accident and death benefits.
DOLE’s hotline action officers handled labor relations issues as well, focusing on due process in cases of suspensions and illegal terminations, certificates of compliance, and labor union requirements.
Hotline 1349 operates Monday to Friday, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
