QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has launched its latest teleradio program, “DOLE at Your Service sa Bagong Pilipinas,” that focuses on addressing pressing labor issues and offering solutions for Filipino workers and job seekers.
The program airs on Radyo Pilipinas (RP1), the official station of the Presidential Broadcast Service – Bureau of Broadcast Services (PBS-BBS) and official Facebook page of DOLE: https://www.facebook.com/laborandemploymentph.
Scheduled to run every Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with replays on Sundays at 1:30 a.m. on RP-World Service, the program aims to provide the public with timely information about labor policies and initiatives.
In a prerecorded message shared during the inaugural episode, DOLE Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma underscored the initiative’s importance in connecting the department’s programs with the Filipino workforce.
“Together with PBS, the program will clarify current events and answer questions from our citizens, especially our workers and investors,” Laguesma said.
He encouraged the public to tune in weekly, saying, “Join DOLE as we discuss and provide solutions to issues and concerns in the labor sector.”
The debut episode, led by DOLE Bureau of Local Employment Director Patrick P. Patriwirawan, Jr. and Radyo Pilipinas Broadcast Station Manager Rey Sampang, addressed the department’s efforts to support workers affected by the government’s ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs) and Internet Gaming Licensees (IGLs).
The program highlighted initiatives such as job fairs, featuring success stories of workers who were hired on the spot.
DOLE is also conducting profiles of displaced workers to identify beneficiaries for its expanded livelihood assistance program.
The radio program is structured into three segments designed to inform and engage listeners: DOLE News Updates, which provides the latest department policies; Program in Focus, featuring in-depth discussions and live interviews with resource persons; and DOLE Public Service, which answers questions from netizens and listeners.
The launch followed the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between DOLE and PBS-BBS on December 27, 2024, formalizing their partnership to raise public awareness about government programs for workers and employers.
Through this platform, DOLE aims to enhance communication and clarity in addressing labor-related issues, aligning with the vision of a “Bagong Pilipinas.” (JCO/PIA-NCR)
