DOLE MisOcc facilitates NRSP-PEIS provincial assessment

OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)–The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10, through the Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office, conducted a provincial assessment on the National Skills Registration Program-PESO Employment Information System (NSRP-PEIS) in Oroquieta City on November 7, 2023.

The program was initiated by DOLE with the main objective of maintaining and continuing the nationwide skills registry through its Skills Registry System (SRS) database.

Present during the said provincial assessment were PESO managers of various municipalities within the province, together with their respective IT staff.

DOLE Misamis Occidental supervised the event led by NSRP-PEIS Focal and Senior Labor and Employment Officer (LEO), Gerly A. Gogo, NSRP-PEIS Alternate and Admin Aide VI Gil M. Daluz, and Senior LEO Jasmin L. Vicente.

In an opening message, Vicente emphasized the importance of the event, particularly in facilitating the access of Filipino job seekers to local employment opportunities. “We hope that each of you will continue to commit yourselves to this program for the betterment of the employment industry,” Vicente said.

Gerly A. Gogo presented the NSRP-PEIS target for 2023.

The program received an overwhelming number of registered applicants, a number of employers, and a total number of job openings as of November.

Thus, PESOs will continue to supply the targeted number at the end of the last quarter. For the regional assessment, the aforementioned assessment consolidated issues and difficulties with the program’s implementation that various PESOs had encountered.

Meanwhile, the participants gave their solutions and recommendations for each problem, to which all agreed.

The NSRP is an employment facilitation machinery of DOLE that aims to cover all the cities and municipalities with operating Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs). Furthermore, the PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) is the enhanced version of the Skills Registry System, a database of active manpower supply containing the profiles of all persons and employers registered under the NSRP.
