DOLE MisOr empowers Libertad beneficiaries with training, livelihood grants

LIBERTAD, Misamis Oriental (PIA) – To uplift lives and create sustainable livelihood opportunities, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Misamis Oriental Provincial Field Office, led by Chief Jose Errol A. Natividad, trained eight individual starter kit beneficiaries and one association of 15 members in Simple Bookkeeping in Retablo, Libertad.

As part of DOLE’s Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), also known as the Kabuhayan Program, the training provided essential financial management skills, empowering participants to manage their businesses effectively. Natividad said this marks the start of new opportunities for participants who aim to transform their dreams into thriving livelihoods.

After the training, DOLE, with support from the Libertad Public Employment Service Office (PESO) led by Manager Iluminada Saburao, held a ceremonial turnover of livelihood grants benefiting three individual starter kit recipients and one association engaged in cow raising and cattle breeding.

DILP’s Kabuhayan Program provides disadvantaged workers with the tools they need to start or expand their businesses. Through Kabuhayan Formation, Kabuhayan Enhancement, and working capital support, DOLE helps beneficiaries achieve economic independence.

The program offers grants for raw materials, equipment, tools, and training to guide recipients in planning and running their businesses.

Natividad emphasized that the event reflects the power of collaboration between the government and local communities. DOLE continues its mission to reduce poverty, create jobs, and transform lives in Misamis Oriental. (DOLE-MisOr/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
