DOLE offers young professionals gov’t internships

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Soccsksargen continues to encourage young professionals and recent graduates to participate in its Government Internship Program (GIP) for 2025.

DOLE’s GIP provides Filipino youth with opportunities to gain practical work experience in various government agencies.

In 2024, 1,556 individuals benefited from the GIP in Region 12, with 44 interns subsequently hired by government agencies.

Charles Bataga, Information Officer for DOLE Region 12, has urged especially the youth to take advantage of the program.

Para sa ating mga kabataan dyan na naghahanap ng trabaho o experience o sa mga nawalan ng trabaho andito po ang ating government internship program to provide you with experience in government service kung gusto niyo po makatulong sa inyong kapwa pilipino through the government offices natin in addition meron din stipend base sa minimum wage na meron ang region,” he said.

(For our youth who are seeking employment or experience, or those who have lost their jobs, we offer our government internship program, which provides hands-on experience in government service. If you wish to assist your fellow Filipinos through our government offices, we also offer a stipend based on the minimum wage of the region.)

Bataga also encouraged young professionals to visit DOLE websites or offices to learn more about the GIP.

He also emphasized that GIP offers minimal allowances to assist young people seeking government work or experience, or those who have lost jobs and need to support their families.

DOLE said that it welcomes interested jobseekers and recent graduates in 2025 to enable them to broaden their prospects and accelerate their  professional growth. (SZT – PIA Region 12)
