DOLE opens over 2K jobs at ‘Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas’ job fair in Oriental Mindoro

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — More than 2,000 job vacancies were opened by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-MIMAROPA with the help of four local employers and one overseas employer at the “Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” job fair in Calapan City on January 30, 2025.

According to Lorie Catapang, Chief of the DOLE MIMAROPA Technical Support and Services Division, the department aims to bring its services closer to Filipinos seeking employment both locally and abroad.

[First and foremost, the goal of this job fair is to bring the services of the Department of Labor and Employment closer to our target clients. This job fair aims to make it easier for our countrymen, especially here in Oriental Mindoro or in MIMAROPA, to find employment. That’s why we invited both local and overseas employers.]

Out of 146 registered jobseekers, over 60 were hired on the spot. Catapang added that DOLE will continue working to improve the region’s employment rate.

[Our department will continue its regular programs to improve the employment rate here in the MIMAROPA region, just like this job fair where we bring employers closer to our countrymen to make it easier for them to find jobs.]

One of the jobseekers is Amor Ross from Barangay Malamig in Calapan City, a manicurist who hopes to find a job at the job fair.

[Whatever they can offer me, I will accept in order to help my family…if I qualify, it will be a big help to us.]

Catapang said that the DOLE will continue to conduct job fairs in the MIMAROPA region to assist Filipinos who are unemployed. (AS/PIA MIMAROPA-Oriental Mindoro)
