ROMBLON, Romblon (PIA) — In line with the Department of Labor and Employment’s aim to enhance and uplift the lives of every Filipino, the DOLE Mimaropa through its Romblon Provincial Office, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Cajidiocan provided livelihood grant for the establishment of small-scale meat processing plant to livestock raisers in Cajidiocan, Romblon.
Fifty-three (53) livestock raisers of the Cajidiocan Hog and Poultry Raisers Association (Cahopras) received the livelihood grant recently with a total amount of Php 614,142.00.
According to DOLE-Romblon’s press release, this initiative is designed to assist livestock raisers enabling them to improve their facilities and post-production activities while ensuring food security and helping promote the government’s sustainable agricultural practices.
According to Precious Dyan Marasigan, Secretary of Cahopras, the grant will enable them to establish facilities, which will help them to manage their livestock raising effectively.
Kasi first association na livestock— related itong Cahopras,” according to Marasigan.
DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program or Kabuhayan Program is DOLE’s contribution to the government’s agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and substantial poverty reduction.
It seeks to reduce the vulnerability to risks of the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized workers by providing them access to grant assistance for capacity building on livelihood ventures either for individual or group undertakings. (PR/PJF/PIA MIMAROPA)
