DOLE provides P1.5M livelihood assistance to parolees, probationers in Isabela

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Isabela has recently distributed P1.5 million worth of livelihood assistance to 56 parolees and probationers in the province, in collaboration with the Parole and Probation Administration (PPA) Region 2.

DOLE Isabela Provincial Director Evelyn Yango said the initiative aims to support their reintegration into society and promote economic self-sufficiency.

She said that each of the selected beneficiaries received livelihood kits worth P30,000.

The livelihood kits include essential tools and supplies, enabling beneficiaries to start small businesses in various fields, such as carpentry, auto mechanics, electrical installation, beauty salons, and food vending.

“The provision of these livelihood packages aims to help beneficiaries achieve financial independence and enhance their families’ well-being,” Yango stated.

She emphasized that the partnership with the Parole and Probation Office allows them to effectively extend services to this sector, ensuring they are not left behind in the government’s efforts to promote inclusive growth.

PPA Regional Director Benita Maramag underscored the importance of collaboration between agencies like DOLE and PPA in supporting marginalized sectors.

She reaffirmed their shared commitment to improving the lives of parolees and probationers in the region.

“We will continue to work hand in hand to ensure that parolees and probationers in Region 2 receive the necessary support to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to their communities,” Maramag added. (MGE/PIA Isabela)
