DOLE releases nearly P10M to boost coffee industry in Nueva Vizcaya

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) –The Department of Labor and Employment has awarded close to P10 million in financial assistance to coffee farmers and coffeeshop owners in the province to boost their livelihood ventures.

Among the beneficiaries are Ambaguio Coffee Producers Association, Inc., Coffee Growers Association of Kayapa, Balete Irrigators Multi-Purpose Farmers Association, Bugkalot Casecnan Coffee Farmers Association, Kasibu Coffee Growers Association, and 13 coffeeshop owners.

“This is a good help for us. With this assistance, we can enhance our coffee shop business,” said Richard Amoguis, one of the beneficiaries.

Elizabeth Martinez, DOLE provincial chief, said the assistance was given through their DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program and Adjustment Measures Program.

She said the assistance aims to boost the growing coffee industry in the province and help coffee farmers improve their production and livelihood.

“The commitment and dedication of our coffee industry stakeholders continue to inspire our agency in providing the needed support and assistance due to them because they help much in uplifting the economy of our province,” Martinez said. 

She also said the assistance is in support of the vision of the local government to make Nueva Vizcaya the coffee capital of Cagayan Valley. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
