ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — To equip the students in choosing their career paths, address job mismatch and underemployment, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through Romblon Field Office participated in Career Guidance Culminating Activity of Mayha National High School (Mayha NHS) recently.
This collaboration aims to strengthen the common goal of education sector and labor workforce in acquainting students with the necessary awareness and knowledge required to plan for future career endeavors based on their interests, abilities, ambitions, skills and values.
Ms. Christine M. Espinosa, Senior Labor Officer, served as one of the resource persons during the culminating activity. Along with the education stakeholders, she highlighted the importance of a productive career choice and explained the factors that affect one’s career choices for effective career development.
Likewise, she successfully presented a clear road map that helps students be on track and accomplish beneficial outcomes. These includes list of various highly in-demand and hard-to-fill occupations in the Key Employment Generators in industries as guide of what career choice they could make to prosper based on Labor Market Information.
Furthermore, DOLE through the Career Guidance Advocacy Program is firm in its mission to educate and increase the level of awareness of students on career opportunities, but also strengthen dynamic collaboration with various agencies whose aim is to secure and uphold the future of today’s generation on labor force.
