DOLE-XI offers packages for uniformed personnel beneficiaries

DAVAO CITY (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment has livelihood packages for the beneficiaries of of the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP).

DOLE-XI Regional Director Randolf Pensoy stated that DOLE actively contributes to the CSBP by providing assistance and overseeing its implementation within the region.

“Sa region karon naa man gud tay partnership sa kani atong Comrehensive Social Benefits Program ang atong beneficiaries niini tong killed-in-action or wounded-in -action (In the region we have a partnership in our Comrehensive Social Benefits Program where the beneficiaries are those killed-in-action or wounded-in-action)” Pensoy revealed.

He shared that DOLE-XI depends on the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) the lead implementing agency of the CSBP to profile the beneficiaries, enabling them (DILG) to deliver the essential livelihood assistance.

The livelihood assistance starts at P20,000 to P30,000 for CSBP beneficiaries particularly those families of killed-in-action uniformed personnel.

“For those wounded-in-action pwede pud siya makadawat sa atong livelihood program nga 20k to 30k (they can still receive our livelihood program of P20,000 to P30k),” Pensoy said.

He also mentioned that the aid comes in the form of cash assistance, provided that there is a designated livelihood program where the cash will be utilized. A beneficiary must submit a proposal for a livelihood venture, like a a sari-sari store, and that cash assistance will be spent to set up that store.

“Our assistance is in the form of monetary support but the money must be spent for that livelihood,” Pensoy said.

Implemented in 2016 by then President Rodrigo Duterte, the CSBP provides immediate and long-term assistance to affected families of uniformed personnel killed or wounded in action.
