ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — Owners of restaurants in Romblon, Romblon recently received food safety equipment from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Mimaropa.
Ten out of fifteen eateries received food warmers, dish sterilizers, and food safety apparel kits for getting an A-grade during the evaluation through its Food Establishment Inspection and Grading System or FEIGS project.
The remaining five eateries received dish sterilizers and food safety apparel kits for getting a B-grade during the evaluation.
The event was conducted in collaboration with the local government.
During the event, Provincial S&T Director Marcelina Servañez of DOST highlighted the vital role of food safety assessments in ensuring the well-being of food establishments.
According to DOST, it is one of the initiatives undertaken by DOST Mimaropa to improve food safety compliance in the province. (PJF/PIA Mimaropa-Romblon)
