DOST-IX inaugurates its Innovation Hub beside their PSTO-Zamboanga del Norte Office
DIPOLOG CITY (PIA) — A new open work space equipped with fast and reliable internet connectivity and countless digital resources for the public’s reference has opened in the city dubbed as Innovation Hub (iHub) to bring science, technology, and innovations closer to the community.
The iHub is located beside the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) in Barangay Upper Turno, Dipolog City and is open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During an interview over the Talakayan sa PIA ug DXDR, PSTO-Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Director, Nuhman Ajani said their goal is not only to make science, technology, and innovations easier to access, but also to foster a culture of innovation and curiosity that brings communities closer together.

“The iHub is a place where innovators and like-minded individuals can come together to share ideas and form networks to foster a community based on innovation,” he said.
Supervising Science Research Specialist, Marc Cachin also added that the DOST can help link and connect innovators to programs and initiatives, be one of DOST’s own or otherwise, to aid them in achieving their vision.
“The vision is to create a space where your ideas can become a reality,” Cachin said.
The DOST highly encourages the public to utilize the facility and its services, emphasizing that should constituents need to use it over the weekend, they can simply send in a request to the provincial office. (EDT/PJF/PIA9-Zamboanga del Norte)
