CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Cagayan Valley Regional Office recently established the Research and Innovation for Sustainability and Empowerment (RISE) Center at the newly-opened Isabela State University (ISU) Santiago City campus.

The inauguration, which took place on March 25, 2025, was part of the formal opening of the ISU Santiago City campus led by ISU System President Dr. Ricmar Aquino, along with local city officials and Provincial Science and Technology Officer Engr. Rosario Danga.

Danga said the project aims to build a robust network infrastructure for Santiago City and neighboring local government units in Cagayan Valley and across the country.

She explained that the RISE Center will serve as an integrated multi-platform which will enable students and residents to connect with the community.

She added that it will also contribute to the Cagayan Valley’s Smarter City Belt strategic vision, making cities and communities in the region future-ready by utilizing the latest technologies and innovations from academic and research and development centers.

“Let’s continue working together, harnessing research and technology to create a brighter, more empowered future. With RISE-C, we are not just launching a center, we are launching a movement that will define the future of Santiago City,” Danga said. (ALM/MGE/PIA Isabela)
