DOST-PCIEERD to celebrate 14 years of transforming innovation towards impact

MANILA, (PIA) —  The Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) will be hosting its 14th anniversary with the theme “Philippine Innovation Expo – Celebrating 14 Years of Transforming Innovation towards Impact” on June 28, 2024 at the Mayure Hall, Dusit Thani Manila.

For the past 14 years, DOST-PCIEERD has supported research and development programs and projects for the industry, energy, and emerging technologies sectors in line with the Council’s mandate. The celebration will center on DOST-PCIEERD’s significant contributions to the community, academia, and industry.

The narrative of the discussion will focus on the immediate target beneficiaries of the project as well as the implementing agency, emphasizing the substantial benefits that science, technology, and innovation have brought to their lives,” the DOST-PCIEERD statement read.

The event aims to showcase the Council’s achievements and the real-world impact of the innovations it has supported over the past 14 years.

Attendees can expect to learn about the various research and development initiatives that have transformed industries and communities across the Philippines.

Among the notable attendees include Aklan 1st District Representative and Chairperson of Committee on Science and Technology Carlito S. Marquez, who will keynote the event; Dr. Enrico C. Paringit, Executive Director, DOST-PCIEERD; and Dir. Osamu Kobayashi of the Department of International Affairs, Japan Science and Technology (JST) Agency, who will be presenting, “The Significance of Multilateral Research Engagements in Tackling Global Challenges.”

The event will also feature exhibits, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, allowing attendees to engage directly with DOST-PCIEERD’s project implementers and beneficiaries.

The DOST-PCIEERD will also sign a memorandum of understanding with the Philippine Information Agency, the grassroots communication arm and public relations firm for specific communication campaigns of the national government.

The event is expected to draw a diverse audience of policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and science and technology enthusiasts.
