SIQUIJOR, Siquijor (PIA) — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) here conducted an Operations Management Review for clients of the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).
The review, according to Engr. Reinhold Jek Y. Abing, Senior Science Research Specialist/Information Officer-designate, is part of the Manufacturing Productivity Extension (MPEX) program that aims to assess the current operational state of participating micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and identify areas for improvement.
The activity was held at the DOST Siquijor PSTO Conference Room where consultants hired by DOST shared their findings and recommendations to the clients.
DOST Siquijor Provincial S&T Director Engr. Mario E. de la Peña said the Operations Management Review serves as a valuable tool for SETUP clients to identify areas where they can streamline their operations and boost their overall productivity.
“By pinpointing inefficiencies and formulating improvement plans, we aim to empower them to become more competitive in the local market,” he said.
Engr. Andre Paolo Lim, one of the resource persons, highlighted the importance of a data-driven approach to business improvement.
He said that through the review, they will be guiding their clients in gathering data on their current operations.
“This data will be crucial in identifying bottlenecks and formulating effective improvement plans,” he said.
