ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) MIMAROPA continues to boost the visibility of local businesses through MIMAROPA VENTURES PH 2.0, an online platform launched in 2014 to promote and market locally made products from the region.
The website serves as a one-stop online hub featuring a wide array of goods produced by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan. It aims to connect local entrepreneurs with a broader market, helping them expand their customer reach beyond their respective provinces.
During the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in Calapan City, DOST MIMAROPA Regional Director Ma. Josefina Abilay emphasized the platform’s role in adapting MSMEs to the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
“This wasn’t just about putting products online. It was about helping MSMEs, small businesses, amid the quickly changing digital landscape,” Abilay said.
She added that the MIMAROPA VENTURES PH 2.0 is more than just an e-commerce platform, as it provides accessible opportunities for entrepreneurs to grow and expand their reach.
“By providing an accessible platform, we empowered local entrepreneurs to improve their markets,” she noted.
The platform features a wide array of locally made products, including food, beverages, handicrafts, personal care items, and home essentials. It also enables buyers, resellers, and distributors to connect directly with local businesses, strengthening trade within and beyond the MIMAROPA region.
