DAVAO CITY (PIA) – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) XI is inviting Mindanaoan inventors and researchers to showcase their innovative ideas and works at the Mindanao-leg of the 2025 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits by Cluster (ClusteRICE).
In a press release, DOST-XI regional director Anthony Sales emphasized that ClusteRICE serves as a great platform for innovators and researchers to demonstrate their ingenuity and creativity in the field of science and technology.
“We urge inventors and researchers to step forward, demonstrate their ideas, and contribute to the advancement of science and technology in the Philippines,” Sales said.
Following Republic Act No. 7459, or the “Inventors and Invention Incentives Act of the Philippines,” ClusteRICE aims to encourage inventors, researchers, and students to exhibit their innovative and creative solutions through various competitions.
The competition features five categories: Invention (Tuklas), Utility Model (Unlad), Industrial Design (Banghay), Creative Research (Likha), and Student Creative Research (Sibol).

The deadline for submission of entries is March 15, 2025.
The winners of the 2025 ClusteRICE Mindanao-leg will advance to the National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE) in 2026, where they will compete alongside delegations from the National Capital Region (NCR), Southern Luzon, Northern Luzon, and Visayas.
