DOT Statement on Palawan’s No. 1 ranking in the U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Islands in the World to Visit in 2025”

The Department of Tourism (DOT) proudly celebrates yet another global recognition for the Philippines, as Palawan has been hailed as the Number One Island in the World to Visit in 2025 by the prestigious U.S. News and World Report online magazine.

This incredible honor affirms what we Filipinos have always known: that Palawan, with its pristine turquoise waters, towering limestone cliffs, majestic underground rivers, and rich biodiversity, is truly a paradise unlike any other. From the enchanting lagoons of El Nido and Coron to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, Palawan continues to captivate the hearts of travelers from all over the world.

Under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., and through the guidance of the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) 2023–2028, the DOT remains steadfast in its mission to position the Philippines as a tourism powerhouse in Asia. Palawan’s recognition aligns perfectly with our ongoing efforts to promote sustainable, inclusive, and globally competitive tourism, while highlighting the unique culture and hospitality of our people.

This global acclaim is not only a celebration of Palawan’s breathtaking natural beauty, but also a tribute to the local communities, tourism workers, and stakeholders who have worked tirelessly to preserve and promote its treasures. Their dedication is a true embodiment of the Filipino spirit and the essence of our tourism campaign: Love the Philippines.

As we mark this milestone, we invite the world to come and experience why Palawan—and the Philippines—should be at the top of every traveler’s bucket list in 2025 and beyond.
