DOTr – Cordillera pushes to ensure ‘CASSA’ transport sector

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — The Department of Transportation in the Cordillera (DOTr-CAR) continues to improve its processes as well as intensify its enforcement of land transportation laws to ensure a convenient, accessible, safe, secure and affordable (CASSA) transportation system in the region.

DOTr-CAR officials led by Regional Director Joshua Pablito said this in the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in Baguio City on Tuesday (June 4).

[As always mentioned by Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, our goal at DOTr-CAR is CASSA, an acronym for a convenient, accessible, safe, secure and affordable transport sector]

While intensifying enforcement of land transportation laws, the DOTr-LTO and the LTFRB also conducted outreach programs to help speed up the issuance of drivers’ licenses as well as gave free theoretical driving courses and road safety seminars.

DOTr-CAR also conducted the house-to-house delivery of replacement plates by LTO personnel to ensure that these are delivered and installed in the vehicles properly.

In support of the Public Transport Modernization Program, DOTr LTFRB reported a 96.86 percent consolidation status for public utility vehicles and 96.96 percent for UV express. The agency continues to provide assistance to drivers and operators affected by the program.

Pablito assured that the DOTr is always open and ready to listen to public transport concerns and to act on valid complaints.

[It is the aim of our office to provide you with comfortable, accessible transportation, always safe and affordable travels for all Filipino citizens and families.]

The DOTr-CAR joined all other DOTr regional offices nationwide in a synchronized Kapihan   to report on their accomplishments and share their programs, services and initiatives in line with the Bagong Pilipinas.

Joining Pablito in the forum were DOTr-CAR Assistant Regional Director Jose Villacorta LTO-CAR Legal and Technical Division Chief Jessie Balagot, LTFRB Public Transport Modernization Program Focal Person Engr. Elmer Mendoza Jr. and DOTr Chief of Finance and Admin Division Jennilyn Avelino. (CCD/PIA CAR)
