DPWH builds 1-storey, 2-classroom school building in Rizal, Nueva Ecija

MANILA — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) has recently completed a one-storey, 2-classroom school building at Ballesteros Elementary School in Barangay Paco Roman, Rizal.

OIC-District Engineer Jun Vana highlighted that the facility provides a more spacious and conducive learning environment, addressing the growing student population and enhancing the quality of education in the community.

“This project aims to alleviate overcrowding and provide essential amenities to students, such as proper ventilation, lighting, and accessibility,” Vana stated.

Vana added that the school building features reinforced concrete gutters, a handwashing area on the left side, a PWD-accessible ramp with handrails, window grilles on the front and rear, a parapet wall, and toilets in every classroom for student and teacher convenience.

Ballesteros Elementary School Teacher Jennifer Miranda noted that the new building significantly improves the learning environment, with spacious classrooms and proper restrooms helping students focus and study more effectively.

“Napakalayo po ng itsura ng dating building na ito kumpara sa bagong building namin ngayon. Malaking tulong po ito para maging maayos at mas maging produktibo ang pag-aaral ng mga bata, lalo na’t napakaluwang po ng classroom nila ngayon at may maayos na rin po silang CR,” Miranda expressed.

The project, with a total cost of P4.95 million, was funded under the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Basic Educational Facilities Fund (BEFF).(DPWH)
