BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) — Two farm-to-market road projects in Bambang town and one access road in Diadi town of Nueva Vizcaya have been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 2.
DPWH 1st District Engineer Marifel Andes said the newly-paved farm-to-market roads in Barangay Salinas and Barangay San Antonio South to Barangay Dullao have a combined budget allocation of P22 million.
The road projects span 486 meters and 665 meters involved the installation of Portland cement concrete pavement and reinforced concrete pipe culvert with headwalls made of rubble concrete extending a double barrel reinforced concrete box culvert as drainage facilities.
Andes said both road projects were provided with road safety markers/signages for a smoother and safer travel experience for all road users.
“This project is expected to boost economic activities of farmers and other residents in the area towards economic growth in the countryside,” she said.
She also said the newly completed Escoting-Pinya-Langka access road project in Diadi is also expected to ease the traffic flow and bring comfort for residents in availing government services.
Andes said the P5 million access road was implemented under the Convergence and Special Support Program, which is aimed at enhancing the access of the residents to essential healthcare, education, and social services.
“This project is also geared toward ensuring a smoother and safer traveling experience to the locals and commuters, and on bolstering economic activities within the area through the faster transportation of basic goods and commodities,” Andes said.
She said the completion of the Escoting-Pinya-Langka Access Road which was funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2023 is another testament to the government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive national development through the employment of quality infrastructure facilities that are responsive to the needs of the people.
