TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a multipurpose building (MPB) at barangay Batitang in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija.
The MPB aimed to provide a conducive area for local officials and residents to conduct programs and meetings.
Punong Barangay Orlando Bautista shared the challenges the locals faced before the construction of the MPB and the advantages they now enjoy upon its completion.
“Noon po kasing wala pa ‘yung gym at may ginaganap kaming mga activities, talaga namang andiyan lang kami sa harapan, mainit kaya nagtitiis kami na maglagay ng tent. Ngayon naman, nakita na namin ng buong mamamayan ng Barangay Batitang ang laki ng naging benepisyo sa mga ka-barangay ko. Napakarami na pong activities na pwedeng gawin: mga estudyante man o kahit po ‘yung mga samahan ng mga magsasaka sa amin ay diyan na po nagme-meeting, pati po ‘yung aming senior citizen,” he said.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st OIC-District Engineer Osias Santos disclosed that P4.9 million was earmarked for the project.
The facility not only includes a stage for officials and residents to host events but is also equipped with solar panels, further exemplifying the DPWH’s commitment to sustainability. (CLJD-PIA 3)
