DPWH completes new school facility in Nueva Vizcaya

AMBAGUIO, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The members of the Indigenous Kalanguya tribe are celebrating the completion of a new school building by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya.

Engineer Marifel Andes, district engineer of DPWH Nueva Vizcaya 1st Engineering District, said the newly completed school building is located within the Ambaguio National High School compound.

With a budget of ₱21.8 million, the building features eight classrooms, each with a floor area of 63 square meters, providing a conducive environment for learning and teaching.

“These new classrooms will significantly impact the lives of the residents, especially by shaping the future of our students in Ambaguio. They offer a safe and comfortable learning environment, contributing to the overall development of the community,” Andes stated.

Each classroom is equipped with a chalkboard and two ceiling fans for proper ventilation. Additionally, wash areas and common restrooms have been constructed to promote hygiene.

To ensure a reliable water supply, two water tanks have been installed at the facility. Andes noted that the school building project was funded through the 2023 Basic Educational Facilities Fund of the Department of Education.

Mayor Ronelio Danao expressed his gratitude to the DPWH and praised President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the completion of the school building in their municipality.

He emphasized that the Indigenous youth can now enjoy larger, safer classrooms conducive to their learning.

“Our municipality is incredibly thankful for this project’s completion. It will undoubtedly encourage and enhance learning among our youth,” Danao said. (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
