DPWH completes P19M school building Nueva Vizcaya

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a new school building in Barangay Dulli, located in the upland town of Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya

DPWH First District Engineer Marifel Andes said the two-storey Dulli Integrated School building, worth ₱19 million, encompasses 304 square meters per floor. The facility features six classrooms, each equipped with ceiling fans for added comfort.

She said the building includes three comfort rooms on the first floor and two on the second, as well as fire alarms and extinguishers for safety. To ensure structural integrity in the hilly terrain, slope protection work was implemented to prevent erosion.

“This newly completed school building will provide a modern and safe environment for teaching and learning, supporting the educational needs of the community and fostering academic growth,” Andes stated.

Construction of the educational facility was completed on May 14, 2024, and was funded under the 2023 Basic Educational Facilities Fund in partnership with the Department of Education.

Barangay Dulli is identified as a key area for the national government’s Whole-of-Nation Approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, as outlined in Executive Order 70.

The initiative also extends to other upland barangays, including Napo, Camandag, and Ammoeg.

Mayor Ronelio Danao expressed his gratitude for the completion of the school building, highlighting it as a significant step in their partnership with DPWH to provide a safe and comfortable learning environment for the predominantly Kalanguya Indigenous community.

“The people of Ambaguio are thankful to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. and DPWH for their ongoing support in providing essential infrastructure for our municipality,” he said. (OTB/BME/PIA NVIZCAYA)
