DPWH completes P374 million-worth bridge

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways – Isabela 1st District Engineering Office has completed the P374.534 million-worth bridge in Minanga, Tumauini, Isabela.

Engr. Deoferio Vehemente Jr in his report to their regional office said the new bridge is parallel to the existing 339.50-meter bridge.

“It consists of an 11-span Steel Plate Girder supported by bored piles, offering a wider road of 7.32 meters for smoother passage across the river,” Vehemente said.

He also said the bridge construction started in July 27, 2020 and completed in June 30, 2023. The inauguration was juct conducted recently.

He said the bridge will not only provide motorists safe, efficient and comfortable travel but also aims to improve connectivity and to increase the capacity for vehicles to cross the river going their respective destinations.

He said the bridge project will serve as a vital connectivity to other parts in the region and will also approximately cater 10,000 daily commuters and travelers. (OTB/MGE/PIA Isabela)
