DPWH completes road improvement project in Bagac

BALANGA CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 2.1-kilometer asphalt overlay and preventive maintenance on Gov JJ Linao Road in Bagac, Bataan.

The P33-million project, funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act, involved clearing and grubbing, asphalt overlaying, and applying thermoplastic paint.

DPWH Bataan Sub (3rd) District Engineer Maribel Navarro noted that the improvements aim to enhance travel for both residents and tourists by providing a smoother and safer road.

“The Gov JJ Linao Road improvement project in barangay Banawang enhances travel and promotes economic development in Bataan’s coastal towns,” she said.

Navarro also emphasized that the project improves access to coastal towns and scenic views, boosting economic development in the area.

Moreover, DPWH Bataan Sub (3rd) OIC-Assistant District Engineer Henry John Morada highlighted that this initiative reflects the national government’s commitment to ensuring safe and reliable roads.

The improved road will better connect Bagac and Morong to other municipalities, facilitating access to tourist destinations and social services, and promoting economic growth. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
