BALER, Aurora (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) concreted a portion of a local road in Maria Aurora, Aurora.
The paved 680-lineal meter section is located in barangay Wenceslao.
DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said improving the local road will alleviate the transportation challenges faced by farmers in moving their crops, including rice and coconuts.
“To prevent potential deterioration of the concrete road due to flooding, we also included the installation of box culverts,” he added. The project likewise covered the construction of a lined canal and stone masonry.
P9.8 million was earmarked for infrastructure under the 2023 General Appropriations Act and was completed on September 21. (CLJD-PIA 3)
