KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — In its commitment to delivering quality infrastructure that ensures public safety and drives economic development, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cotabato 1st District Engineering Office, in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), has completed two convergence projects in Alamada, North Cotabato.
The constructed concrete roads along Junction Dulao-Ricor-New Leon-Patag-Dado Road and Pati-Baugan-Badak-Junction Camp 10 (Rangayen) Road span 1.475 kilometers and 1.1415 kilometers with a total contract amount of P97.387 million.
These recent successful concreting of roads not only had advantages in economic terms, but also ensures access for all restricted rural areas, allowing farmers to transport their crops, especially from these upland-parts of Alamada, where bananas, coffee and highland vegetables are grown, their production and marketing is nowadays top notch secure. They also contribute to the reduction of absenteeism levels in schools. In addition, since these roads gain easy route to the main cities and municipalities, where medical infrastructure is concentrated, these can also improve life quality of people.
The completion of these projects reflects the commitment of DPWH and DTI to concreting positive impacts on rural communities. These roads not only facilitate mobility and economic growth but also symbolize progress, making difference in the lives of the people of Alamada.
